Flooded Batteries

Flooded, also called "wet cell" batteries, are the most commonly used batteries in the solar PV industry. Flooded batteries are used by many industries to power a wide range of applications.

Flooded batteries, which use lead plates, plate separators, and a sulphruic acid electrolyte fluid, are not sealed and, as such, vent gases directly to the environment.  Flooded batteries require require regular maintenance to ensure that they contain the proper level of water.  When properly maintained, flooded batteries are well able to take and hold a charge and prevent corrosion and failure.
