What Kind Of Loads Can I Run On PV?

When considering the possibility of going solar, it is most important to know what your solar PV system is capable of powering.  A correctly designed and sized PV system you can power almost any electrical load.  However, as the load size increases so does the expense of energy.  So, obviously loads like those drawn by electric ovens, air conditioners, and heating loads should be avoided.  The added cost of trying to power loads like these is very cost prohibitive because your system size would need to much larger to accommodate the loads. However, in most homes, these load-heavy appliances are a neccesary to live a comfortable home life.  In order to enjoy these comforts of home,  it is a lot less expensive to change those appliances to ones that use an alternative fuel type, like propane.
